Looking for CT’s $1,000,000 Mega Millions Prize Winner!Check your numbers, Connecticut!  Someone bought a winning $1,000,000 Mega Millions® ticket for the Tuesday, June 28, 2011 drawing.  Though CT Lottery officials don’t know who the winner is just yet, the CT Lottery confirms that the winning ticket was sold in Hartford County.

The winning combination for the June 28 Mega Millions drawing was 12 - 17 - 27 - 47 - 48, Mega Ball - 33.  The Megaplier was 4.   Nationwide, 613,708 winning tickets were purchased for the June 28, 2011 Mega Millions drawing, 6,013 of those tickets were sold here in Connecticut.

While no one in the nation won Mega Million’s top prize on Tuesday, someone who purchased a ticket in Connecticut matched the first five numbers drawn.  The owner of the winning Mega Millions ticket added the Megaplier feature to the purchase of their ticket for an extra $1, so their $250,000 prize was automatically multiplied by 4 making their prize worth and incredible $1,000,000!

“It’s exciting to have so many winners in our state—especially a million dollar winner.  We encourage ticket holders to sign their tickets immediately, if they have not already done so, to establish ownership,” said Anne M. Noble, President and CEO of the CT Lottery.  “We also encourage the owner of the $1,000,000 ticket to seek professional financial planning advice and to consult with an attorney—winning $1 million is a life-changing event.”

Mega Millions tickets expire 180 days from the drawing date.  June 28 winners have until December 25, 2011 to claim any prizes won.

The next Mega Millions drawing will be held on Friday, July 1st with an estimated jackpot worth $105,000,000.
