ROCKY HILL, CT / July 17, 2020 – On Monday, July 20, 2020, the CT Lottery will
launch a new category of games called Fast Play. Fast Play games are like
instant (scratch) games, but are printed on-demand from a CT Lottery retailer
terminal or self-serve CT Lottery vending machine. The first family of games
will be “Jumbo Bucks,” and will be available at the $1, $2, and $5 price
points.
“Fast Play will offer our players an
entertaining option that combines several elements of different games and
playstyles with the familiarity that comes with CT Lottery games,” said Greg
Smith, CEO and President, CT Lottery. “We’re excited to add Fast Play games to
our product line, and look forward to seeing that progressive jackpot grow and
for our players to win it.”
Fast Play progressive games are a
series (or family) of games that all share the same name, appearance and
playstyle, but are available at different price points (wager amounts). There
are no numbers to pick, no play slip needed and no drawings. Each game in a
family contributes to ONE progressive jackpot that grows with ticket sales,
until someone wins. Fast Play will be available across the CT Lottery’s
2,900-strong retailer network. Almost 20 state lotteries offer games similar to
Fast Play, many with progressive jackpots.
Along with the CT Lottery’s current
slate of games that includes an expansive instant ticket portfolio and draw
games like Powerball, Mega Millions, and Connecticut’s own Lotto game, Fast
Play will offer a fresh and entertaining option for consumers and continue to
grow the Lottery’s financial contributions to the state’s General Fund. In
fiscal year 2020, the CT Lottery returned $348 million* to the General Fund, the
second-most ever. In the last three years alone, the Lottery has returned in
excess of $1 billion to the state.
