$20 In Spare Change Turns Into a $10,000 Top Prize-Winning TicketAfter purchasing a few lottery tickets with $20 in spare change, Jerry Cooney of Hartford scratched off the barcodes and asked the retailer to check for winners. When his last ticket was scanned, Jerry distinctly heard the terminal say, CONGRATULATIONS! "I'm thinking I won $10, maybe $20, but he stuck his hand out and shook my hand. Then he handed me the ticket with the $10,000 (claim receipt). I've never won anything this big before!"
