Six Simple Words Spell Cash for Ansonia ResidentAn odd assortment of six unrelated words: CAP, PIE, CASE, ZEST, AID, and DUO was just the right combination needed by Joshua Everlith of Ansonia to win $100,000 in the CT Lottery instant game, "$100,000 Cashword 2." "It’s really cool," said Everlith, who was thrilled with the lucky windfall.
The 23-year old tire salesman, who purchased the $10 instant game at Party Time Package located on Wakelee Avenue in Ansonia, thought he had won $30 after scanning the $100,000 Cashword 2 ticket in the Lottery "Ticket Checker." After handing the ticket to the store clerk, however, Everlith was informed that the ticket couldn’t be cashed—at least not at that store—because it was actually worth $100,000. "I ran home to share the news with my mother, and then came directly here to claim it," Everlith said.
Later that day, Everlith arrived at Lottery Headquarters in Rocky Hill to accept a check from Lottery officials for $68,503 (prize value after taxes). "The money will pay off some student loans," said Everlith. "Maybe I’ll even start a business."
For selling Everlith his top prize winning ticket, Party Time Package will receive a $1,000 selling bonus from the CT Lottery.
The winning names, stories and photos on this website are just a small number of the thousands who claim prizes. The fact is, people win every day with the CT Lottery! Below is a list of recently claimed prizes of $10,000 or more. Please Note: When a winning scratch ticket is validated through a Lottery Retailer's terminal, the remaining number of unclaimed prizes for that prize level is automatically updated reflecting one less prize. Until the individual or group presents their winning ticket for claim at CT Lottery Headquarters, the identity of a winner is unknown.
