Since the beginning of this year, Connecticut players have won: a $185.3 million jackpot ($123,943,000 cash value) for the February 14 Powerball drawing (Cheshire); a $1,000,000 Powerball prize on January 3 (Danbury), plus five $2,000,000 Powerball prizes with the Power Play® option on January 19 (Milford), May 9 (Oakville), May 25 (Guilford), July 16 (Prospect) and August 24 (Bristol).

The Powerball jackpot for the Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, drawing is currently an estimated $508 million with a cash value of $256.3 million. 

Powerball costs $2 per wager. The Power Play feature costs an additional $1 per wager — it can multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, or 5 times. On drawing nights (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday), wagering closes at 10:00 PM and reopens at 11:15 PM. 

Jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, or a lump sum payment. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
